Towers (Proceeds to Khadija Saye Memorial Fund)

120 GBP

An original piece of artwork made from discarded materials and vintage threads. There is not another the same.

£93 from this sale (the amount that would normally go to me, after outside deductions) will be donated to the Khadija Saye Memorial Fund. Khadija tragically lost her life in the Grenfell Tower fire. The fund will help young artists whose background and circumstances might not grant them access to such support.

The collage has been torn from the front pages of the Metro and Evening Standard newspapers (see image) reporting on the fire, and sewn onto handmade paper (from a charity shop), then stitched onto watercolour paper (also from a charity shop). All stitching is done by hand. My hand.

I have explained the materials and its making in greater detail here: https://alisonsye.wordpress.com/2017/07/16/towers-7/

The piece measures approximately 13 x 14cms (not including border) and 28 x 30.5cms with border, which can be trimmed by your framer, as desired. A frame is not included.

All of my work is individually numbered, this piece is 849.

The price includes Royal Mail 'Special Delivery', within the UK. It will need to be signed for. If you are out, a card will be put through your letterbox, giving instructions about how to arrange a more suitable delivery time.

I will not be posting overseas until I have got to grips with Tictail. I am new here.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
