Towers (Proceeds to Khadija Saye Memorial Fund)
An original piece of artwork made from discarded materials and vintage threads.
£59 from this sale (the amount that would normally go to me, after outside deductions) will be donated to the Khadija Saye Memorial Fund. Khadija tragically lost her life in the Grenfell Tower fire. The fund will help young artists whose background and circumstances might not grant them access to such support.
The 'towers' have been torn from the front page of the Evening Standard newspaper (see image) reporting on the fire, and sewn onto a friend's old uniform shirt (also, in images), then stitched onto watercolour paper (from a charity shop).
I have explained the materials and its making in greater detail here: https://alisonsye.wordpress.com/2017/07/16/towers-5/
The piece measures approximately 19 x 20cms (without border), and 27.5 x 32.5cms with border, but your framer could trim to a smaller border if desired. A frame is not included.
All of my work is individually numbered, this piece is 847.
The price includes Royal Mail 'Special Delivery', within the UK. It will need to be signed for. If you are out, a card will be put through your letterbox, giving instructions about how to arrange a more suitable delivery time.
