Towers (Proceeds to Khadija Saye Memorial Fund)
An original piece of artwork made from discarded materials and vintage threads, as usual I have made only one like this.
All proceeds, which would normally go to me (£119), will go directly to the Khadija Saye Memorial Fund. Khadija tragically lost her life in the Grenfell Tower fire. The fund will help young artists whose background and circumstances might not grant them access to such support.
The 'towers' have been torn from the front page of the Metro newspaper (see image) reporting on the fire, and sewn onto handmade paper (from a charity shop), then stitched onto watercolour paper (also from a charity shop). All stitching is done by hand. My hand.
I have explained the materials and its making in greater detail here: https://alisonsye.wordpress.com/2017/07/16/towers-4/
The piece measures approximately 19 x 21cms (without border), and 30.5 x 34.5cms (with border, enough for your framer to trim, as desired). A frame is not included.
All of my work is individually numbered, this piece is 846.
The price includes Royal Mail 'Special Delivery', within the UK. It will need to be signed for. If you are out, a card will be put through your letterbox, giving instructions about how to arrange a more suitable delivery time.
I will not be posting overseas until I have got to grips with Tictail. I am new here.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
